New Rwanda Investment Code Released| Catagories:
Earlier this week the Rwanda Development Board has unveiled a new Investment Code that offer a number of tax breaks and incentives to help facilitate private investment in Rwanda and it’s businesses.
“This year we aim to achieve $1.2 billion worth of private investment into the economy and to grow that annually by 20 per cent,” Francis Gatare, CEO of the state’s Rwanda Development Board, told a meeting of local business people in Kigali.
Published first in May, the key sectors targeted for investment included information technology, health, tourism, manufacturing and energy projects. There are a number of attractive incentives, particularly for those investing at least US$50 million designed to attrach investments “that can have bigger and sustained impact to the economy,” Gatare said, adding that the sectors identified were expected to have “wider multiplier effects.”
